Member Email Alias FAQs
An email alias is not an email account; it is simply a forwarding address. All emails sent to youralias@asme.org are automatically forwarded to the destination email address you provide us, such as your home or work email address. No setup or programming is required on your PC. At this time ASME does not allow for personalization of your ASME.ORG email alias.
For security reasons all members who have alias asme.org email accounts will now be transitioned to a new email address xxxx@asme-member.org. This is to ensure proper security and reduce any risk to our primary domain www.asme.org Members will now utilize the new domain www.asme-member.org designated specifically for our existing members who have alias accounts (those with an existing account will be grandfathered in – new alias accounts will not be provided for new members).
Your action is required if you want to continue receiving emails at an ASME member alias after November 18th, 2021. Please take the following 2 steps by November 18 at 5pm EST:
- Confirm that you would like to continue using your new email alias by clicking on “Confirm & Update” within My Account. Go to asme.org, sign into your account, select the “Email Alias” menu option, then click on “Confirm & Update.”
- Notify anyone who currently sends emails to your @ASME.org alias email address of your email address change. This includes subscription lists as well as personal contacts for correspondence. We are providing a 3-month period to reach out to your contacts and make the necessary changes to any subscriptions or websites for which you use the alias. As a courtesy, both the old and new email addresses will be active during this 3-month period.
It is your responsibility to contact all of your personal contacts to inform them of your new updated email alias. Additionally, please check your Spam and Junk folders to ensure your new email address is not getting blocked from your inbox.
After confirming and notifying your contacts, all communications will be automatically routed to your new email alias address (e.g. conference registration communications, all member benefit information, etc.).
Both your old and new email address will work during the 3-month time period. Please be aware that after November 18th your old email alias address will no longer be active. If you have any issues with this change, please contact Customer Care at customercare@asme.org and they can assist you.
During the 3-month transition period, you can use either your old or new email alias to log into the ASME platforms.
However, for the platforms listed below, you must use your old email alias during this 3-month transition period.
- Conference Registrations (i.e. Eventray, Cvent)
- ASME Learning Hub
- Personnel Certifications
- Conference Webtool
- ASME Digital Collection
Please use your new email alias (XXXXXXX@ASME-MEMBER.org ) after November 18th EST for all ASME related platforms as your old email alias will no longer be active.
