The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is reshaping the dynamics of e-healthcare. It amalgamates a sophisticated computing framework with a myriad of physical equipment, facilitating the convergence of the physical and digital realms. IoMT goes beyond mere connectivity; it establishes a continuous stream of health-related data including vital metrics. The processing of IoMT data, coupled with the challenges posed by massive healthcare data analytics, wireless connection reliability, diverse communication settings, and the intricacies of seamless data streaming, form a complex tapestry that warrants careful consideration.
One of the transformative capabilities of IoMT lies in its potential to enhance the quality of life for aging populations through Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) configurations. AAL serves as a pivotal mechanism for tailoring healthcare services.  In AAL, AI emerges as a critical enabler, converting raw data into actionable knowledge for tailored clinical decision-making. However, there are various implementation hurdles ranging from hardware heterogeneity and protocol disparities to challenges in information retrieval and interpretation. Despite these obstacles, the promise of advancements in healthcare that particularly address the needs of an aging population remains a driving force.
