Paving the way for future generations, NASA's first Black female engineer worked in the 4' x 4' NACA Supersonic Pressure Tunnel built in 1962.
To this day, being a woman in engineering means facing numerous challenges, such as gender bias and pay disparity. Being a Black woman in engineering adds another level of racial discrimination and systemic barriers to advancement, compounding the challenges and making their professional journeys particularly difficult.
