ASME Honors AAPI Contributions in Engineering

ASME Honors AAPI Contributions in Engineering

This May, ASME celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month by acknowledging the significant contributions of AAPI individuals to various aspects of US history, culture, society, and engineering.

During AAPI Heritage Month, ASME promotes the diverse perspectives and accomplishments of AAPI individuals in engineering. Countless AAPI engineers have created groundbreaking work and left lasting impacts on the profession.

We are also dedicated to fostering inclusivity and equality in the engineering field by supporting initiatives like the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), an organization that assists the advancement of AAPI individuals in engineering.

ASME also recognizes the contributions of AAPI individuals within our organization. We recently launched the Asian American and Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group (ERG). The ERG will provide our AAPI employees with opportunities to learn, volunteer, and network.

The AAPI ERG will help cultivate an inclusive culture that not only encourages and celebrates diverse voices throughout the organization but also accelerates connections among AAPI individuals within ASME.

ASME believes in the transformative power of engineers to shape the future. We are committed to ensuring that the engineering profession reflects the diverse tapestry of our global community. Together we can create an environment where all engineers can flourish.

With regards,
