Roache Receives the ASME Dedicated Service Award

In recognition of his extraordinary commitment and service to ASME, Patrick J. Roache has been awarded the ASME Dedicated Service Award. This esteemed award, established by the ASME Board of Governors in 1983, honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional voluntary service marked by outstanding performance, effective leadership, and a long-standing dedication to ASME.

Roache, a Fellow of ASME and a retired consultant, has made significant contributions over his extensive career, particularly in the areas of Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ). His nomination highlights his sustained and dedicated service to the VVUQ Codes and Standards committees, where he has been a passionate contributor and served as an Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification.

With over two decades of service to ASME verification and validation (V&V), Roache has been instrumental in developing standards. He has played a pivotal role in various committees, including the V&V committees for Solid Mechanics (VVUQ-10/PTC 60), Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer (VVUQ-20/PTC 61), and Nuclear Systems and Fluids Behavior (VVUQ-30). 

Roache’s leadership and commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within the engineering community exemplify the spirit of the Dedicated Service Award.
