Robert Kauer, TÜV SÜD

Robert Kauer (Dipl.-Ing., Dr.-Ing., Certifying reg. EUR ING) received his engineering degree at the Technische Universität of München in 1991.  He also holds a National Board commission as an ASME Authorized Inspector Supervisor for new and in-service equipment.  Since earning his degrees, he has been working in the field of pressure vessel & piping technology, plant and equipment construction and operation.

Throughout his service at TÜV SÜD, Robert has handled various national and international projects related to design, Fitness for Service, structural integrity and inspection program development for nuclear and non-nuclear applications in pressure vessel & piping technology.  Currently, Robert is responsible for projects for the Process Industry related to Asset Integrity Management, Reliability Optimization and Process Safety at TÜV SÜD Industry Service, Munich.

He is and was member of various national and European committees and is Chairman of ASME Internal Working Group Germany for ASME Section VIII, as well as member of TG for Electric Cell Stacks and EU IWG for B31.12 Hydrogen Piping.  He holds a commission as an ASME Authorized Inspector Supervisor.

Robert has been working for internationally recognized companies in 50+ countries.  He has published 40+ papers at international conferences and acknowledged journals.  Robert is also a certified instructor for ASME Learning and Development, having taught more than 100 ASME related courses around the world.
