Podcast: Mechanical Engineers Remain in High Demand

Mechanical engineers are in high demand and Addison Group’s Jim Gerlock examines what recent graduates and seasoned MEs need when it comes to skills and training in the current and future job market.
Among the factors contributing to the demand for mechanical engineers is their capacity to deliver innovative solutions in a variety of industries. According to Jim Gerlock, an executive recruitment specialist with Addison Group, recent graduates and engineers with less than five years of experience are in the best position to take advantage of the current job market.

These individuals along with seasoned professionals hold "foundational, technical knowledge" that is required in a variety of fields, but especially in manufacturing. Gerlock talked candidly with TechCast and examined the continued need for and salary of mechanical engineers as well as what these professionals can expect when it comes to experience, training, and a company’s product or service.
