Supporting the ASME LGBTQ+ Community During and Beyond Pride Month

Supporting the ASME LGBTQ+ Community Supporting the ASME LGBTQ+ Community
In June and beyond, ASME remains committed to championing LGBTQ+ individuals both within and outside of the engineering sphere.

Wherever engineers are in their professional journey—whether they are students or long-standing ASME members—we are committed to fostering an environment where all individuals feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to the forefront. Our goal is to cultivate ASME as a space where diverse perspectives and experiences are acknowledged and celebrated.

With this goal in mind, we recently established the ASME LGBTQ+ Pride Committee, which will convene for the first time during our annual meeting this month to discuss how ASME can best support its LGBTQ+ members moving forward.

Inside our organization, the LGBTQ+ Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) is going strong. This June, members of the ERG will head to DC to celebrate Pride and explore the history of LGBTQ+ rights in our nation's capital.

To learn more about ASME’s work to further LGBTQ+ inclusion, visit https://www.asme.org/about-asme/diversity-and-inclusion/asme-lgbtq-pride-group. Fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion is a continuous effort, and we are dedicated to making ASME and the broader engineering profession a welcoming environment for all.
