Meet the 2025-2026 ECLIPSE Participant: Dr. Dimitra-Eirini Diamantidou

We're excited to announce this year's ECLIPSE Early Career Leadership Program participant and share how this transformative program continues to shape the next generation of ASME leaders.

The ECLIPSE Early Career Leadership Program is a year-long opportunity designed to empower early-career engineers by connecting them directly with senior ASME leaders. Launched in 2006, the program aims to engage and develop mechanical engineers, offering them a clear pathway to leadership within the organization. Participants are paired with an ASME unit and a coach to work on impactful projects and take part in both virtual and in-person meetings throughout the year.

This year, we're proud to welcome Dr. Dimitra-Eirini Diamantidou to the ECLIPSE program. Dr. Diamantidou brings a wealth of experience in advanced propulsion systems and a proven track record of leadership within ASME.

Dr. Dimitra-Eirini Diamantidou is a Performance Engineer at MTU Aero Engines AG, where she focuses on developing methodologies for system performance, particularly in novel and hybrid-electric propulsion systems. She earned her PhD from Mälardalen University, Sweden, in 2024, specializing in hybrid-electric aircraft applications with an emphasis on aircraft sizing and mission-level analysis. Dimitra also holds a Mechanical Engineering Diploma (Dipl.-Ing.) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Dimitra has held several leadership roles within the ASME IGTI Student Advisory Committee and has served as the Head of the IGTI Early Career Committee. She is an active member of the IGTI Executive Leadership Group, working to create volunteering and knowledge-sharing opportunities for students and early career professionals. Recently, she joined the Standards & Certification sector as an ECLIPSE Participant for 2025-2026, aiming to expand her knowledge and exposure in different ASME sectors.

Throughout the coming year, Dr. Diamantidou will work closely with ASME's Standards & Certification sector, contributing to key projects while developing her leadership skills. We look forward to sharing her progress and insights as she embarks on this exciting journey.
