Scholarship Committee/Get Involved

Are you interested in joining the ASME Scholarship Committee?

We're always looking for interested volunteers, who are passionate about helping the next generation of ME/MET students get an ME degree. Help us to expand and evolve the work of the committee; to build and engage a network of scholarship alumnus, to help to grow the number of scholarships and to impact our young members pursuit of an engineering education and career in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology. We provide funding for engineering students seeking a course of study in ME/MET education, who are in financial need, attending an ABET accredited program.

Mission

To promote the art and science of mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology and related technical disciplines among high-achieving students of leadership potential who are pursuing an ME or closely related Technical Certification, Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree at community colleges, colleges, universities and technical high schools.

Vision

The ASME Scholarship Committee seeks to:
  • Work closely with the ASME Foundation and ASME Philanthropy Committee to achieve the goal of increasing the total annual dollar value of scholarships.

  • To continue a rigorous selection process, in-line with donor guidance, that identifies and awards scholarships to highly deserving students of diverse backgrounds who demonstrate the potential to have a positive impact on the Society and the profession.

  • To develop and make visible a dynamic community of scholarship recipients and alumni who support each other and continue to contribute to the profession and the next generation of engineers.
