VIB Conference Student Paper Competition Award

Deadline: 1st week of June

The TVS Student Paper Competition takes place during the Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB). A maximum of three top papers will receive awards, which are expected to include monetary prizes. Entries will be evaluated by three anonymous reviewers, and between 3 to 10 finalists will be chosen by the TVS Student Paper Awards Committee. The winners will be selected to receive first, second, and third place and will be notified during the annual IDETC/CIE conference. To submit an entry to competition the paper must be emailed to the current VIBS Student Paper Competition chair. This will be announced shortly after the deadline for paper entries.

Evaluation Criteria:
Finalists will be assessed based on their paper's:
- Relevance to the dynamics and vibrations community, including the significance and impact of the work.
- Creativity and innovation.
- Technical quality, completeness, and the quality of the work presented.
- Clarity of the writing.
Associated Journal
ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics
The Journal of Vibration and Acoustics is sponsored jointly by the Design Engineering and the Noise Control and Acoustics Divisions of ASME.  The Journal is the premier international venue for publication of original research concerning mechanical vibration and sound. Our mission is to serve researchers and practitioners who seek cutting-edge theories and computational and experimental methods that advance these fields. Our published studies reveal how mechanical vibration and sound impact the design and performance of engineered devices and structures and how to control their negative influences.

Events

TCVS Monthly Seminar

TCVS hosts monthly seminars online via Zoom covering broad areas of dynamics, vibration, and acoustics. Each seminar features a presentation by a faculty member or an industrial expert sharing their latest research relevant to the field. TCVS seminars aim to foster intellectual exchange, promote collaboration and networking, and stimulate new ideas within the community.
The seminars are open to all ASME members and friends. If you would like to receive the monthly seminar announcements, please send a request to tcvs.asme@gmail.com to be added to the list.

TCVS VIB Conference at IDETC-CIE

Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB) as part of International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC-CIE)
