VOLT Annual Business Meeting Workshop: Generative AI Foundations
ASME operates at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and global impact. As Generative AI continues to reshape how work gets done, there is a clear opportunity to equip your ASME volunteers with practical tools that enhance both technical expertise and human capability.
This workshop is designed to help ASME volunteers understand and apply Generative AI in ways that are immediately useful, responsible, and aligned with how they already work. Grounded in a strengths-based approach, the session focuses on how individuals think, solve problems, and collaborate, then shows how AI can amplify those natural patterns rather than replace them.
Participants will not just learn what AI can do. They will experience how to use it as a thought partner for their ASME volunteer work, communication, and decision-making
Learning Objectives:-
Build Foundational AI Literacy for Practical Use: Develop a clear understanding of what Generative AI is, how it works, and where it adds value across leadership, operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
-
Apply AI to Real-World Scenarios: Use structured prompting and guided exercises to explore how AI can support problem-solving, documentation, communication, and efficiency in day-to-day ASME volunteer work.
-
Leverage Individual Strengths to Use AI More Effectively: Identify how personal strengths influence how participants approach AI, enabling more effective, authentic, and strategic use of these tools.

Date & Time: Sunday, June 7, 2:00-4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time
