ASME Journals Digital Submission Tool Guidelines and Information
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Access Policy
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Access Policy aligns with ASME’s vision “to be the essential resource for mechanical engineers and other technical professionals throughout the world for solutions that benefit humankind.”
ASME fully supports this policy and acknowledges that journal authors retain the right to submit a copy of their final peer-reviewed manuscript to NIH for public archiving in PubMed Central (PMC). Authors of NIH-funded research may submit their accepted manuscripts to PMC in compliance with NIH requirements.
To support compliance with NIH requirements, ASME deposits the final peer-reviewed, typeset PDFs to PubMed Central on behalf of authors whose work is NIH-funded. These final PDFs are submitted to PMC upon publication as part of the standard process.
ASME remains committed to providing timely and affordable access to scholarly research. Our journal and conference proceedings are made available globally through the ASME Digital Collection: http://asmedigitalcollection.asme.org.
